Milwaukee Bucks forward Charlie Villanueva caught wreck from head coach Scott Skiles for posting a tweet during halftime of a game Sunday night. (Read about it here.) Villanueva — who has just over 1,600 followers on Twitter — provided the following in-game analysis:
“In da locker room, snuck to post my twitt. We’re playing the Celtics, tie ball game at da half. Coach wants more toughness. I gotta step up.”
ESPN interviews MLB managers from the dugout while the team is on the field or up to bat. Isn’t that worse?. As long as Villanueva wasn’t busy tweeting while Skiles was drawing up second-half changes, I’m OK with it. I honestly believe Villanueva was trying to provide unique insight for his fans. I give him the benefit of the doubt, too, because he’s always been a good guy off the court. He’s one of the more involved players in the league when it comes to charities.
Lighten up, league.
